Target Information

MAPK13 (p38 delta) is a serine/threonine kinase that transduces extracellular signals such as cytokine and environmental stress responses.
It regulates keratinocyte differentiation and is activated by environmental stresses and proinflammatory cytokines via phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinases or autophosphorylation through MAP3K7IP1/TAB1 interaction.
Substrates include ATF2, MEF2C, MAX, CDC25B, and p53, implicating roles in stress-related transcription, cell cycle regulation, and genotoxic stress response.
Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
