Target Information
AFP (Alpha Fetoprotein)은 태아기 동안 난황낭, 장, 간에서 생성되는 주요 혈장 단백질입니다. 성인에서 AFP 발현은 간암(hepatoma)이나 기형종(teratoma)과 관련이 있으며, 일부에서는 병리학적 이상 없이 유전적으로 지속될 수 있습니다.
AFP는 혈청 알부민의 태아형 대응 단백질로 알려져 있으며, AFP와 알부민 유전자는 염색체 4번 상에서 같은 전사 방향으로 인접해 존재합니다.
AFP는 단량체, 이량체, 삼량체 형태로 존재하며, 구리, 니켈 이온, 지방산, 빌리루빈과 결합할 수 있습니다.
양수 내 AFP 수치는 신경관 결손(spina bifida, anencephaly) 선별 검사에 활용되며, 혈청 AFP의 상승은 간세포암(HCC), 기형암, 대장암, 췌장암, 생식세포종양 등에서 관찰됩니다.
