Product Specific Information

The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to create VLA complexes (VLA-1 through VLA-6) and interacts with CD51. These complexes mediate cellular adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation.

CD29-containing integrins bind to extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and interact with receptors including VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells (≤0.5 µg/test). A test corresponds to staining a cell sample in 100 µL volume. Cell number typically ranges from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Fluorophore Information:
Super Bright 436 is excited at 405 nm and emits at 436 nm. Recommended detection filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cells including all leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with alpha chains (α1–α6), determining the binding properties of VLA integrins. Plays a role in platelet adhesion, immune cell trafficking, and extracellular matrix interactions. Decreased ITGB1 expression is associated with multidrug resistance in tumor cells. Upregulated during leukocyte migration and inflammation, influencing cytokine secretion and tissue response.

Two major isoforms exist: β1A (ubiquitous except muscle) and β1D (cardiac and skeletal muscle).
