Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This purified monoclonal antibody is directed against the FLAG™ motif and is useful for detecting the presence of the epitope tag at either the amino or carboxy terminus of recombinant proteins. It specifically detects overexpressed proteins containing the FLAG™ tag and does not cross-react with endogenous proteins in bacterial extracts.

Target Information

The DYKDDDDK tag (FLAG tag) is a short peptide sequence (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) commonly used as a protein tag to facilitate purification, detection, and localization. It can be fused to either the N- or C-terminus of a protein, allowing easy identification and isolation using anti-FLAG antibodies. The FLAG tag is hydrophilic, minimizing interference with protein structure and function. It is widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry for protein-protein interaction studies, expression analysis, and localization experiments.
