Target Information

Syntrophin is an adapter protein that binds signaling molecules to the dystrophin-associated protein complex, connecting the extracellular matrix to the intracellular cytoskeleton for the maintenance of postsynaptic structures in the neuromuscular junction and CNS.
Microtubule-associated serine/threonine-protein kinase 2 (MAST205) is a testis-specific cytoplasmic protein functioning in spermatid maturation. MAST205 links the dystrophin/utrophin network with microtubule filaments via Syntrophin and regulates lipopolysaccharide-induced IL-12 synthesis in macrophages by forming a complex with TRAF6, leading to inhibition of TRAF6 NF-kappa-B activation.
Two isoforms exist due to alternative splicing: Isoform 1 (full length) and Isoform 2 (lacking residues 327–396 and 1091–1113). Phosphorylation at the N-terminus is required for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasome-mediated degradation.
