Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins specific to neurons, composed mainly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H.
NF-L is the light or low molecular weight subunit (~70 kDa), while NF-H is the heavy subunit (~180–220 kDa).
Their expression is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated, contributing to the maintenance of neuronal caliber.
