Product Specific Information
The PK136 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse NK1.1, an antigen expressed by natural killer cells and a subset of T cells in NK1.1-positive strains (C57BL, NZB). Common strains such as BALB/c, SJL, AKR, CBA, C3H, and A do not express NK1.1.
For NK cell detection in these strains, use the DX5 monoclonal antibody (CD49b, Product #14-5971).
Simultaneous staining of C57BL/6 spleen cells with PK136 and DX5 shows coexpression in most cells, with minor DX5+PK136− and DX5−PK136+ populations.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry of mouse splenocytes, ≤1.0 µg/test (100 µL volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize titration for best performance.
Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 496 (BUV496) emits at 496 nm, excited by UV (355 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information
NK1.1 (KLRB1, NKR-P1A, CD161) is expressed by Natural Killer (NK) cells and some T lymphocytes. It belongs to the C-type lectin superfamily and plays a role in NK cell regulation.
The KLRB1 protein includes extracellular C-type lectin motifs, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain.
NKR-P1A recognizes Lectin Like Transcript-1 (LLT1) as its functional ligand.
