This antibody detects endogenous levels of total IDH3B protein.

Target Information

Isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses: one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+) as electron acceptors.
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported:

• Three NAD(+)-dependent forms localized to the mitochondrial matrix
• Two NADP(+)-dependent forms (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic)

NAD(+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenases catalyze the allosterically regulated rate-limiting step of the tricarboxylic acid cycle.
Each isozyme is a heterotetramer composed of two alpha subunits, one beta subunit, and one gamma subunit.
The IDH3B gene encodes the beta subunit of one NAD(+)-dependent isozyme, with three alternatively spliced transcript variants producing different isoforms.
