Product Specific Information

This R6H1 monoclonal antibody reacts with CD196 (CCR6), a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor expressed on T cells, B cells, dendritic cells, natural killer cells, and Langerhans cells.
CCR6 binds MIP-3α/CCL20, a chemoattractant for dendritic cells, effector/memory T cells, and B cells, and plays a key role in host defense and inflammation at epithelial sites. It is also implicated in Th17 differentiation and CD4⁺FoxP3⁺ regulatory T cell development.

• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test
  • One test = amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume
  • Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined)

Target Information

CCR6 is a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, predicted to be a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor. It is preferentially expressed by immature dendritic cells and memory T cells. Its ligand, MIP-3α (macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha), is critical for B-lineage maturation and antigen-driven B-cell differentiation, and regulates the migration and recruitment of dendritic and T cells during immune responses.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
