Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Sprouty-2 antibody reacts with human Sprouty 2 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with Sprouty 2 from human, monkey, and orangutan based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with Sprouty-2 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein belonging to the sprouty family. The encoded protein contains a carboxyl-terminal cysteine-rich domain essential for inhibitory activity on receptor tyrosine kinase signaling proteins and is required for growth factor–stimulated translocation of the protein to membrane ruffles. In primary dermal endothelial cells, this gene is transiently upregulated in response to fibroblast growth factor two. The protein is indirectly involved in the non-cell autonomous inhibitory effect on fibroblast growth factor two signaling. It interacts with Cas-Br-M (murine) ectropic retroviral transforming sequence and can function as a bimodal regulator of epidermal growth factor receptor/mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling. This protein may play a role in alveoli branching during lung development as shown by a similar mouse protein.
