This peptide corresponds to a 17 amino acid sequence near the carboxy terminus of human BRUCE.
PEP-1454 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34412.
Target Information
Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is related to many diseases such as cancer. Apoptosis is triggered by various stimuli including TNF family members and can be prevented by IAP (inhibitor of apoptosis) proteins.
BRUCE, also known as BIRC6, is an IAP family member protein containing a BIR (baculoviral inhibition of apoptosis protein repeat) domain and a UBCc (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2, catalytic) domain.
BRUCE regulates p53 and the mitochondrial pathway of apoptosis by facilitating the degradation of apoptotic proteins such as Caspase-9 and SMAC through ubiquitination.
