Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and various epithelial tissues. It serves as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and plays roles in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration. CD44 is involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression levels may increase in certain carcinomas, potentially linked to metastatic potential.
CD44 exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, contributing to its structural and functional diversity. It is expressed in hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, epithelial tissues, and filopodia of cultured keratinocytes. Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus.
