Target Information
The inhibitor of DNA binding 2 (ID2) protein plays a crucial role in the development of various cell types, including natural killer cells, erythroid precursors, and CD8+/CD4+ T-cells.
A deficiency of ID2 enhances B-cell development.
ID2 interacts with E proteins and other basic helix-loop-helix (HLH) family proteins, preventing them from binding DNA and activating transcription.
Activation of ID2 is essential for the formation of the natural killer cell lineage.
