This antibody has specificity for Human KDM3A.

Target Information

JMJD1A is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates Lys-9 of histone H3, playing a central role in the histone code.
It preferentially demethylates mono- and dimethylated H3 Lys-9 residues, with higher activity toward dimethylated forms, and minimal activity on trimethylated H3 Lys-9.
Demethylation generates formaldehyde and succinate. JMJD1A participates in hormone-dependent transcriptional activation by recruitment to androgen receptor target genes, leading to H3 Lys-9 demethylation and transcriptional activation.
It is also involved in spermatogenesis by regulating expression of genes such as PRM1 and TMP1, and contributes to obesity resistance through regulation of metabolic genes including PPARA and UCP1.
