This antibody has specificity for Human HOXB8.
Target Information
The HOXB8 gene belongs to the Antp homeobox family and encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. It is part of the homeobox B gene cluster located on chromosome 17. The encoded protein functions as a sequence-specific transcription factor involved in development. Increased expression of this gene is associated with colorectal cancer.
In mice, knockout of the murine ortholog results in excessive pathological grooming behavior, similar to the obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorder trichotillomania in humans.
