Target Information
Heme oxygenase (HO)는 미소체 효소로, heme을 항산화 분자인 biliverdin과 일산화탄소로 산화시키는 반응을 촉매합니다. HO는 두 가지 동종효소로 구성되며, 유도성 HO-1과 항상성 발현형 HO-2가 있습니다. HO-1은 산화 스트레스, 염증 인자, TGF-β, 열충격 등 다양한 자극에 의해 유도됩니다. HO-1의 발현 증가는 세포의 방어 기전으로, 항산화 물질인 bilirubin 생성을 증가시켜 산화 스트레스로부터 세포를 보호합니다.
