Target Information
Aquaporins은 AQP0부터 AQP10까지 다양한 isoform이 존재하며, 대부분의 세포에서 여러 종류가 함께 발현됩니다. 대부분의 aquaporin은 물에만 투과성이 있지만, AQP3, AQP7, AQP9 및 AQP10의 일부 isoform은 urea와 glycerol에도 투과성을 가집니다.
AQP2는 vasopressin에 의해 활성화되어 신장의 collecting duct에서 물 재흡수를 증가시키는 유일한 수로 단백질입니다.
Aquaporins는 신장 내 수분 흡수, 폐 분비물 생성, 눈물 분비, 뇌척수액 및 안방수의 분비 및 재흡수에 관여합니다.
특히 폐에서 AQP5는 type I alveolar epithelial cell의 apical membrane을 통한 수분 이동의 대부분을 담당합니다.
