Aquaporin 3 (AQP3)는 수분 통로 단백질로, 주요 내재성 막 단백질(MIP 또는 AQP0)과 관련된 소형 막 단백질 군인 아쿠아포린(Aquaporins)에 속합니다. Aquaporin 3는 신장 집합관 세포의 기저외측막(basolateral membrane)에 존재하며, 물뿐만 아니라 요소(urea)와 글리세롤(glycerol) 같은 비이온성 소분자도 운반할 수 있습니다. 이러한 수분 통로 단백질은 기능적으로 이질적일 수 있으며, 물과 용질의 투과 메커니즘을 모두 가질 수 있음이 제시되었습니다.
