Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris Buffer with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
TNF alpha (Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha) is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune cells, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It exists as multimers but shows a single 17 kDa band on SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. Knockout studies indicate its neuroprotective and tumor necrosis functions. TNF alpha plays roles in immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections and is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
