This HMJ2-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Jagged-2, one of five type I transmembrane proteins serving as Notch receptor ligands. Upon binding to Notch receptors (Notch 1–4), Jagged-2 undergoes proteolytic cleavage by ADAM-family metalloproteases and gamma-secretase, releasing an intracellular fragment with uncertain biological function. Jagged-2 is expressed by thymic lymphoid and stromal cells, as well as macrophages and dendritic cells in the spleen.

Note: Staining of endogenous splenic dendritic (CD8⁺CD11c⁺) cells was consistently confirmed only in cells isolated from C57BL/6 mice, not Balb/c. Other strains have not been tested. The antibody has been reported to cross-react with rat and possess blocking function.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤ 1 µg/test. Optimal antibody titration is recommended for best performance.
