Target Information
The LTBP1 protein belongs to the family of latent TGF-beta binding proteins.
Secretion and activation of TGF-betas are regulated by their association with latency-associated proteins and latent TGF-beta binding proteins.
LTBP1 targets latent complexes of transforming growth factor beta to the extracellular matrix, where activation occurs via multiple mechanisms.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
