Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of BIK only when phosphorylated at Ser35.
Target Information
The Bik protein interacts with cellular and viral survival-promoting proteins, such as BCL2 and the Epstein-Barr virus, to enhance programmed cell death. Its activity is suppressed in the presence of survival-promoting proteins, suggesting that BIK is a likely target for antiapoptotic proteins. BIK shares a critical BH3 domain with other death-promoting proteins, including BAX and BAK.
