Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway, consisting of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are important for reorganization after fragmentation during mitosis. The Golgins are a family of Golgi-localized proteins, and the protein encoded by this gene is associated with Sjogren’s syndrome.
