Target Information
Cathepsin 계열은 다양한 단백질 분해 효소로 구성되어 있으며, cysteine protease 클래스에는 Cathepsin B, L, H, K, S, O가 포함됩니다. Aspartyl protease 클래스에는 Cathepsin D와 E가 있으며, Cathepsin G는 serine protease 클래스에 속합니다. 대부분의 Cathepsin은 리소좀에 존재하며, 펩타이드 생합성 및 단백질 분해 등 세포 대사에 관여합니다.
Cathepsin O는 다른 cysteine proteinase와 유사한 구조적 특징을 가지며, 펩타이드 가수분해 과정 중 활성 부위 cysteine 잔기가 공유 중간체 형성에 관여합니다. 이 효소는 세포외기질 분해에 관여할 수 있으며, 난소, 신장, 태반에서 풍부하게 발현되고, 흉선 및 골격근에서는 낮은 수준으로 발현됩니다.
