Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody OX104 recognizes human CD200 (OX2), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig domains, a transmembrane, and a cytoplasmic domain.
CD200 is expressed on resting and activated B cells, subsets of T cells, keratinocytes, peripheral and central nerve cells, follicular dendritic cells, and ovarian cells.
Interaction with CD200R results in macrophage activation (IL-6 production), inhibition of mast cell degranulation, and reduced TNF-α and IL-13 secretion, leading to attenuation of lymphocyte activation.
Expression on trophoblasts suggests a role in maternal tolerance.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (defined as staining a 100 µL cell sample, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein with two immunoglobulin domains, belonging to the Ig superfamily.
It interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells to prevent macrophage activation.
Homologues exist in herpesviruses and poxviruses.
In mice and rats, CD200 regulates myeloid activity and delivers inhibitory signals to macrophages.
Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist.
Associated diseases include Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
