Target Information
SLC1A5 (Solute carrier family 1, neutral amino acid transporter, member 5) is part of the Na(+)-dependent amino acid transporter superfamily. It exhibits broad substrate specificity with a preference for zwitterionic amino acids and sodium dependence. It transports neutral amino acids such as glutamine, asparagine, and branched-chain or aromatic amino acids, while excluding methylated, anionic, and cationic amino acids. Additionally, it functions as a cell surface receptor for feline endogenous virus RD114, baboon M7 endogenous virus, and type D simian retroviruses.
