Target Information
CaMKII delta belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family and the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. Calcium signaling plays a crucial role in synaptic plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. In mammalian cells, CaMKII is composed of four chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The delta chain undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms with different expression patterns.
