ORAI3는 칼슘 신호전달 및 항상성 조절에 관여하는 단백질로, 세포막의 칼슘 방출 활성화 칼슘(CRAC) 채널을 구성하는 ORAI 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다. 소포체의 칼슘 고갈 시 세포질 내로 칼슘 이온 유입을 유도하며, T세포 활성화, 근육 수축, 신경전달물질 방출 등 다양한 생리적 과정에 관여합니다. ORAI3의 발현 이상 또는 기능 이상은 면역 질환, 암, 심혈관 질환 등과 관련이 있습니다.
