This antibody has specificity for Human JAML/AMICA1.
Target Information
AMICA is a transmembrane protein located on the plasma membrane of leukocytes, regulating their migration and activation through interaction with CXADR, a receptor found on epithelial and endothelial cells. This interaction mediates activation of γδ T-cells, which are involved in tissue homeostasis and repair. Upon CXADR binding, JAML induces downstream signaling in γδ T-cells via PI3-kinase and MAP kinases, leading to proliferation and cytokine/growth factor production that promote epithelial tissue repair. It also controls leukocyte transmigration through adhesive interactions with epithelial and endothelial CXADR.
