Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation is associated with various human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET is involved in embryonic development processes including gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, MET contributes to wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
Dysregulation of MET has been linked to gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a significant target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
