Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
BMP15 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 15), also known as GDF9B, is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein family, part of the TGF-β superfamily involved in embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis.
BMP15 is expressed exclusively in oocytes and functions as an oocyte-specific growth/differentiation factor implicated in oocyte maturation and follicular development.
Defects in BMP15 are associated with ovarian dysgenesis type 2. BMP15 may serve as an oogenesis marker to track human amniotic fluid stem cell differentiation into oocyte-like cells.
