Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
CHMP4B is a member of the chromatin-modifying protein/charged multivesicular body protein (CHMP) family. It is part of the ESCRT-III complex, which functions in sorting endocytosed cell-surface receptors into multivesicular endosomes. The ESCRT machinery also plays roles in cytokinesis and the budding of enveloped viruses such as HIV-1.
CHMP4 subfamily proteins interact with PDCD6IP (ALIX) and assemble into membrane-attached filaments that form circular scaffolds, promoting or stabilizing outward budding. These polymers are proposed to help generate the luminal vesicles of multivesicular bodies.
