For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CEA (Carcino Embryonic Antigen, CD66e) is synthesized during fetal development in the gut and re-expressed in various carcinomas, particularly intestinal adenocarcinomas.
It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and contains one N-domain and six immunoglobulin constant-like domains (A1–A3, B1–B3).

Antibodies against CEA are valuable for identifying the origin of metastatic adenocarcinomas and distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (60–70% CEA+) from pleural mesotheliomas (rarely or weakly CEA+).

CEA functions as a cell adhesion molecule expressed on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia, mediating homophilic and heterophilic interactions. It is implicated in tissue organization, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune modulation.

Multiple transcript variants and isoforms have been reported.
