SHP2 단백질은 protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) 계열에 속하며, 세포 성장, 분화, 유사분열, 암화 과정 등 다양한 세포 신호 조절에 관여하는 분자입니다. 두 개의 Src homology-2 도메인을 포함하여 인산화 티로신 결합 및 기질과의 상호작용을 매개합니다. 대부분의 조직에서 널리 발현되며, 세포 내 신호 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 Noonan syndrome 및 급성 골수성 백혈병의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
