Target Information
Arginine methylation is an irreversible post-translational modification implicated in RNA processing, receptor-mediated signaling, and transcription. At least three types of PRMT enzymes have been identified in mammalian cells, with essential regulatory roles via methylation of key proteins involved in nuclear function, cell cycle, signal transduction, apoptosis, and viral protein regulation. The mammalian PRMT family consists of seven members sharing two large homologous domains, with antibodies developed against all PRMT members.
