Product Specific Information
The eBio1D4B monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD107a (LAMP-1), a type I lysosomal membrane protein that is highly glycosylated and constitutively expressed in late endosomes and lysosomes of all cells. CD107a is transiently expressed on the surface of degranulating cytolytic T cells and serves as a marker for lysosomal storage disorders and cellular degranulation.

- Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis
- Surface staining in degranulation assays
Applications Tested:
- Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of thioglycolate-elicited peritoneal exudate cells
- Recommended ≤1 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Target Information
LAMP1 (CD107a, lysosome-associated membrane protein-1) is a major lysosomal membrane component, with 1–2% localized on the plasma membrane. It contains a signal peptide, 18 N-linked glycosylation sites, a single transmembrane domain, and a short cytosolic tail. LAMP1 and LAMP2 are essential for lysosome biogenesis and fusion with phagosomes.
Upon activation, LAMP1 translocates to the plasma membrane via a tyrosine-based motif (YXXI). Mutations in this motif disrupt lysosomal localization. Surface LAMP1 promotes PBMC adhesion to vascular endothelium and may play a role in inflammation. Increased LAMP1 expression is observed in neurons and glial cells near senile plaques in Alzheimer’s disease, as well as in macrophages and lymphocytes during thymic involution. LAMP1 is also a marker of mast cell activation.
