Target Information
Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells to postmitotic differentiated cells. The Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs) family—RXR alpha, beta, and gamma—preferentially bind 9-cis RA and regulate gene transcription by forming heterodimers with RA receptor family members. RAs may play a therapeutic role in cervical cancer and are key regulators in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory behaviors.
