Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform desalting again using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Nucleocytoplasmic transport is a signal- and energy-dependent process occurring through nuclear pore complexes. Proteins with a nuclear localization signal (NLS) require the importin alpha and beta heterodimer (karyopherins) for transport. Importin alpha binds NLS-containing cargo, while importin beta facilitates docking at the nuclear pore complex. In the presence of nucleoside triphosphates and Ran GTPase, the complex translocates through the pore, dissociates, and importin alpha enters the nucleoplasm with its cargo. Importin beta remains at the pore. Interactions between importin beta and FG repeats of nucleoporins are essential for translocation. The KPNB1 gene encodes a member of the importin beta family.
