Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and composed predominantly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. Expression of these neuronal IFPs is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. NF-H plays an important role in mature axons and is implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
