- Specificity: ABS 050-45-02 binds human ghrelin and des-acyl ghrelin, showing ~5% cross-reactivity with rat ghrelin in sandwich ELISA using ABS 052-121 as biotinylated detection antibody.
- Reactivity: Binds human ghrelin in solution; can be used as a capture antibody in sandwich ELISA with biotinylated detection antibody ABS 052-121-02.

GHRL encodes the ghrelin-obestatin preproprotein, which generates ghrelin and obestatin.
- Ghrelin is the ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 and regulates growth hormone release.
- It has appetite-stimulating effects, induces adiposity, and stimulates gastric acid secretion.
- Obestatin may act as a ligand for GPR39, involved in satiety and appetite reduction.
