Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).


Target Information

WISP2 is a member of the WNT1 inducible signaling pathway (WISP) protein subfamily, belonging to the connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) family. WNT1 is a cysteine-rich, glycosylated signaling protein involved in diverse developmental processes. CTGF family members contain four conserved cysteine-rich domains: insulin-like growth factor-binding domain, von Willebrand factor type C module, thrombospondin domain, and a C-terminal cystine knot-like (CT) domain.
WISP2 lacks the CT domain, which is related to dimerization and heparin binding, and shares 72% amino acid identity with the mouse protein. It may act downstream of the WNT1 signaling pathway relevant to malignant transformation. Expression is reduced in colon tumors, while other WISP members are overexpressed. WISP2 is highly expressed in bone tissue and may play a role in modulating bone turnover.
