They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.
While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and providing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets—a recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibody has a defined mixture of light and heavy chains. This ensures reproducibility and avoids the biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues, but not on tyrosine. It forms complexes with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papilloma virus-16 E. Rb protein regulates transcription, and loss of function leads to uncontrolled cell growth.
Aberrations in the RB gene have been implicated in cancers of the breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.
