Product Specific Information

MA5-17159 targets PSAP in indirect ELISA, FACS, ICC, IHC, IF, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human PSAP (amino acids 325–524) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17159 detects PSAP, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 58.1 kDa.

Target Information

PSAP is a highly conserved glycoprotein that serves as a precursor for four cleavage products: saposins A, B, C, and D.
Each domain of the precursor protein is approximately 80 amino acids long, with nearly identical cysteine residue placement and glycosylation sites.
Saposins A–D localize primarily to the lysosomal compartment, facilitating the catabolism of glycosphingolipids with short oligosaccharide chains.
The precursor protein exists both as a secretory and an integral membrane protein and exhibits neurotrophic activities.
