Target Information
PGC-1α is a transcriptional coactivator regulating genes involved in energy metabolism. It interacts with PPARγ, enabling interaction with multiple transcription factors. PGC-1α also regulates CREB and NRFs, linking external stimuli to mitochondrial biogenesis and muscle fiber type determination. Additionally, it may play roles in blood pressure control, cholesterol homeostasis, and obesity development.
