Target Information
ATF3 (Activating Transcription Factor 3)는 mammalian activation transcription factor/cAMP responsive element-binding (CREB) 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 전사 인자입니다. 약 22 kDa의 단백질을 암호화하며, ATF 결합 요소를 포함한 프로모터에서 전사를 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 형태인 ATF3 delta Zip은 leucine zipper 단백질 이합체화 모티프가 결여된 단축형 단백질을 암호화하며, DNA에 결합하지 않습니다. 반대로 ATF3 delta Zip은 억제성 보조 인자를 프로모터로부터 격리시켜 전사를 촉진할 수 있습니다.
ATF3 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱은 표적 유전자의 조절에 생리학적으로 중요한 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다. 세 가지 전사 변이체가 두 가지 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
