Product Specific Information
The ICRF44 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD11b, a 165 kDa adhesion molecule associated with integrin beta2 (CD18). CD11b is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and a subset of NK cells. It serves as a receptor for ICAM family members (CD54, CD102, CD50) and iC3b, mediating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells; use at 5 µL (1 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
- Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
- Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
- Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 775 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM, integrin alpha-X, ITGAX) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule that forms a heterodimer with integrin beta-2 (CD18), known as Mac-1 or CR3. It is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia. CD11b/CD18 acts as a receptor for ICAMs, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X, playing a key role in immune cell adhesion and migration.
CD11b expression varies across tissues—high in bone marrow cells and peritoneal macrophages, low in thymocytes. It serves as a microglial marker and is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related autoimmune susceptibility.
