Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Chitotriosidase is secreted by activated human macrophages and is markedly elevated in plasma of Gaucher disease patients. Expression occurs at a late stage of monocyte differentiation into activated macrophages. The enzyme is highly conserved and may play a role in the degradation of chitin-containing pathogens.
