Product Specific Information

The 22URTI monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin (IL)-22, a 20 kDa cytokine of the IL-10 family secreted mainly by Th17 and NK cells.
In vitro, IL-22 expression is induced more strongly by IL-23 than by IL-6 or TGF-β, suggesting secretion by differentiated Th17 cells.
The IL-22 receptor is a heterodimer of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1.

Applications Reported:
Used for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested for intracellular staining of restimulated, Th17-polarized CD4+ human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.01 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

IL-22 (IL-10-related T-cell derived inducible factor) is an alpha-helical cytokine belonging to the IFN-IL-10 family, including IL-19, IL-20, IL-24, IL-26, IL-28, and IL-29.
Produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells, IL-22 interacts with the receptor complex IL-22R1/IL-10R2, activating JAK-STAT signaling.
It primarily targets nonimmune cells such as epithelial cells, hepatocytes, and keratinocytes, regulating innate immunity and wound healing.
IL-22 is co-expressed with IL-17A and IL-17F in Th17 cells and contributes to antimicrobial protein induction and keratinocyte mobility.
Highly expressed during chronic inflammation, IL-22 plays a critical role in host defense and tissue repair.
