Product Specific Information
The antibody has been negatively preadsorbed using a non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site to remove reactivity with non-phosphorylated PRAS40.
The final product is generated by affinity chromatography using a PRAS40-derived peptide phosphorylated at threonine 246.
This antibody has been used in western blotting with NIH3T3 cells ± PDGF as a positive control. Previous lots have been used in immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry. Other applications may work but have not been tested.

The Akt signaling pathway regulates apoptosis in response to various cell death signals.
AKT1S1 (PRAS40) is a proline-rich substrate of AKT1 and plays a role in neuroprotection mediated by nerve growth factor (NGF) after transient focal cerebral ischemia.
It is also a substrate and regulator of mTOR, which controls cell growth and cycle, and acts as a negative regulator of autophagy.
Treatment with insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1) induces phosphorylation of AKT1S1 via the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in PC12 cells.
