Target Information
SLC38A3 is a sodium-dependent amino acid/proton antiporter that mediates electrogenic cotransport of glutamine and sodium ions in exchange for protons. It also recognizes histidine, asparagine, and alanine. This transporter may function bidirectionally under physiological conditions and plays an important role in nitrogen metabolism and synaptic transmission.
